Strategy

Our strategy combines diversification and careful risk management to help grow your wealth while safeguarding your assets. We customize our approach to align with your specific goals and market conditions, aiming for steady, long-term success.

At Chatham Capital, we believe that building strong, long-term relationships is vital to business success, and we actively pursue new partnerships with entrepreneurs, capital providers, and other intermediaries alike. Since 2001, we have provided flexible capital solutions to over 180 lower-middle market firms to further their growth and allow ownership to realize its goals. Chatham’s principals’ 100+ years of experience in leveraged lending, private equity, investment banking, operational management, consulting, and accounting provide our portfolio companies and co-investors with the necessary expertise to weather the cyclicality of the lower-middle market and capitalize on expansion opportunities.

Despite the more than $1 billion in capital that Chatham has raised since inception, our lean investment team and flat organization ensures that we are unencumbered by lengthy, bureaucratic processes. This structure allows us to move quickly and decisively to provide funding to a company or intermediary in need.

Chatham welcomes and encourages the participation of other knowledgeable investors in our investments, as we believe that our portfolio companies benefit from a diversity of views, experiences and relationships. When Chatham acts as lead investor, we can arrange, as needed, for the participation of other high-quality investors.

We are continually looking for new investment prospects. If you feel you have an opportunity that fits our approach and strategy, please submit a business plan or executive summary to one of our investment professionals. For the initial review, the firm requires a description of the company and industry, an overview of the company’s strategy and business model, historical and projected financial statements, and resumes of key managers.
